Net Zero Global Network Terms of Reference

1. Status and host

The Net Zero Global Network, referred to in these Terms as the Network or NZGN, is a cross-sector and cross-disciplinary collaboration platform hosted and sponsored by Strategy&Ops Consultancy Pty Ltd. Strategy&Ops coordinates membership, communications and activities on behalf of the Network.

2. Purpose

The Network connects organisations and individuals to share knowledge, build capability and encourage practical action toward net-zero emissions and sustainable development.

3. Objectives

The Network aims to:

connect people and organisations across sectors, disciplines and regions;
share practical experience, good practice, research and useful resources;
support knowledge exchange on net-zero strategies, policies and implementation;
encourage collaboration between industry, government, communities and research institutions;
support green skills, education and training; and
promote inclusive approaches that consider social equity and community needs.

Priority areas may include circular economy and waste, environmental conservation, clean technology, energy efficiency, smart and sustainable cities and regions, education and training, and social inequalities associated with the net-zero transition.

4. Membership

Membership is open to eligible organisations and individuals whose work, interests or activities align with the Network’s purpose. Membership may include government bodies, NGOs, businesses, SMEs, universities, research institutions, researchers, technical specialists, educators, community organisations and advocates.

Applicants are required to submit the membership application and accept these Terms of Reference. Strategy&Ops may approve or decline an application to protect the purpose, integrity and reputation of the Network.

Membership is complimentary during the Network’s promotional period. Members accepted under this offer will retain complimentary membership. Strategy&Ops may introduce different arrangements for future applicants, with any changes communicated in advance.

5. Participation and member opportunities

Members are encouraged to use the Network, where appropriate and within their capacity, to:

share their sustainability stories, initiatives, achievements and practical case studies through Network communication channels;
propose, host or contribute to webinars, discussions and knowledge-sharing activities;
promote relevant events, research, resources and community initiatives;
connect with other members and seek suitable collaborators for projects, research, training or funding opportunities;
contribute expertise, lessons learned and good practices; and
introduce relevant organisations, experts or communities to the Network.

Members may submit ideas or material to Strategy&Ops for consideration. Publication, promotion or use of the Network’s communication channels is subject to available capacity, relevance and approval by Strategy&Ops. Content must be accurate, professional and consistent with the Network’s purpose.

6. Member conduct

Strategy&Ops is not responsible for any damages, losses, or injuries resulting from the use of our services or courses.
All content is provided “as is,” without warranties of any kind.

Members are expected to:

act professionally, respectfully and in good faith;
provide accurate information and avoid misleading environmental or net-zero claims;
respect confidential information and intellectual property;
disclose relevant conflicts of interest when participating in Network activities; and
avoid conduct that may harm the Network, its members or Strategy&Ops.

7. Role of Strategy&Ops

As host, Strategy&Ops Consultancy will manage applications and membership records, maintain Network communications and website information, and may organise activities or facilitate connections and collaboration. Strategy&Ops may invite members to participate based on their interests and expertise. The scale and frequency of activities will depend on available capacity and member interest.

8. Use of the Network name and member information

Members may accurately describe themselves as members of the Net Zero Global Network while their membership is current. They must not represent themselves as speaking for NZGN or Strategy&Ops, or use the Network name or logo for commercial promotion, without prior written approval.

Membership does not constitute certification, accreditation, partnership or endorsement of a member’s environmental performance, products, services or claims.

Institutional members authorise Strategy&Ops to display their organisation name, logo, short profile and website link on the NZGN website after approval. Members may request that their listing be corrected or removed.

9.  Intellectual property confidentiality and projects

Members retain ownership of material they bring to the Network. Any joint publication, research, training, funding application or commercial activity will be subject to a separate written agreement where needed.

10. Withdrawal suspension and removal

A member may withdraw at any time by notifying Strategy&Ops. Strategy&Ops may suspend or end membership where a member misuses the Network’s name, provides materially misleading information, acts inconsistently with these Terms, creates significant reputational risk, or is no longer eligible. Where practical, the member will be contacted before a decision is made.

11. Changes to these Terms

Strategy&Ops may update these Terms as the Network develops. Material changes will be communicated to members. Continued membership after notification will indicate acceptance, unless a member chooses to withdraw.

12. Acceptance

Submitting a membership application and selecting the acceptance checkbox confirms that the applicant has read and agrees to these Terms of Reference.
