The Level 2 Ecotourism Strategy Course is designed for learners who want to understand how to apply effective ecotourism strategies in practice. The course introduces key principles that show how ecotourism tourism can reduce environmental impact, support local communities, and preserve cultural heritage. It also explains how responsible travel can create authentic and memorable experiences for visitors.
This course provides foundational knowledge and applied skills that prepare participants for international certification programs, including:
1. Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Practitioner Pathways
– Understand GSTC Industry Criteria for tour operators and accommodations.
2. Green Destinations Certification Readiness
– Tools and frameworks aligned with Green Destinations’ core indicators.
3. The Long Run – GER® Certification Support
– Develop readiness in the 4Cs: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce.
4. Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) AdventureEDU & Guide Standards
– Aligns with ATTA’s safety, sustainability, and guide training standards.
5. Ecotourism Australia ECO Certification (for international participants working toward application)
While this course does not directly certify, it builds the competencies and documentation practices needed for formal assessments.
