Course Overview
This professionally designed short course series equips ecotourism practitioners with practical skills, knowledge, and tools to lead sustainable tourism initiatives. Through three progressive levels, participants learn to design, implement, and grow ecotourism enterprises grounded in conservation, community engagement, and ethical business practices.

• Equip participants with core competencies in ecotourism planning and management.
• Promote inclusive, environmentally sustainable tourism practices.
• Foster community ownership and collaborative governance in ecotourism projects.
• Strengthen participants’ ability to market, monitor, and scale ecotourism services.

Ecotourism Certifications Supported
This course provides foundational knowledge and applied skills that prepare participants for international certification programs, including:
1. Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) Practitioner Pathways
– Understand GSTC Industry Criteria for tour operators and accommodations.
2. Green Destinations Certification Readiness
– Tools and frameworks aligned with Green Destinations core indicators.
3. The Long Run – GER® Certification Support
– Develop readiness in the 4Cs: Conservation, Community, Culture, and Commerce.
4. Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA) AdventureEDU & Guide Standards
