About Course

Course Overview:

This course is designed for Australian households, professionals, and community members who want to better understand their household carbon footprint and how everyday choices contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

In this course, learners will explore the main sources of household emissions and learn how the GreenHome Impact Tracker (GHIT) converts household data into a clear, personalised carbon footprint. The course provides a foundation for identifying emission hotspots and preparing for practical action in later courses.

Learning Outcomes

  • Identify the four main categories of household emissions used in GHIT: Energy (Electricity & Gas), Transport, Food & Waste, and Lifestyle & Consumption.
  • Recognise how common household activities contribute to emissions within each category.
  • Use GHIT to enter household data and generate a baseline household carbon footprint.
  • Interpret GHIT results to identify your household’s highest emission hotspots
